Aerial Photographic Interpretation (20 February 1996)

NY 1695 7288 NY17SE 57

Air photography (RCAHMSAP 1989) has recorded the cropmarks of an oval enclosure 300m NE of the old parish church of Hoddom (NY17SE 4.00). The ditch is only visible around the NE half, but the size of the interior is indicated by a darker marking within its arc; this measures about 30m from NE to SW by 25m transversely.

In addition to the perimeter of the monastic site (NY17SE 56), there are several linear cropmarks in the vicinity.

Information from RCAHMS (SPH), 20 February 1996.

Listed as settlement.
