Scope and Content Redrawn for publication as comparative plan. HLG, April 1994. Plan of a settlement at Mollin, Dumfries and Galloway Situated on a broad ridge some 500m north of Mollin steading are the heavily robbed remains of a prehistoric settlement. The interior is partially obscured by recently dumped field clearance material and is cut by a modern field dyke Roughly circular, the settlement lies within a heavily robbed bank which has been destroyed on the south-east. Settlements like this enclosed timber-built round-houses with a yard for keeping animals and storage. A mixture of animal husbandry and arable cultivation were likely practised by the inhabitants.
